Information on travel documents for citizens of Ukraine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has announced the resumption of consular services for citizens of Ukraine residing abroad. The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine then issued instructions on the Reserve+ mobile application, which applies to persons designated for compulsory military service aged 18-60. If your travel document is expiring, please contact the diplomatic mission of Ukraine in the Czech Republic.

According to the Act on the Residence of Foreigners, you are obliged to stay in the Czech Republic with a valid travel document.

A valid document is one of the main requirements when applying for or extending the validity of a long-term visa, long-term or permanent residence.

Without a valid travel document, your application for the issue or extension of a residence permit under the Act on the Residence of Foreigners (e.g. an employee card) cannot be granted. If you submit your application without a valid travel document, you will be given a reasonable period of time to provide it in your application.

A valid travel document is also required when dealing with other institutions such as offices, banks or for other matters.

Persons with a valid residence permit whose stay is not extended or expires are generally not eligible for the granting of temporary protection visa.

In view of the above, we do not recommend staying in the territory without a valid travel document.

For all foreigners residing in the Czech Republic (regardless of the type of residence permit), it is not possible to travel outside the Czech Republic without a valid travel document.

In case of changes, the information on this page will be updated.
