Vacancy Number
Third country nationals who hold an employee or blue card can only be employed on work positions registered in the Central Database of Job Vacancies for employee card holders and in the Central Database of Job Vacancies for blue card holders. Such a vacancy is always a particular work position with a particular employer, registered in the Database under a unique number. The only exceptions are situations when employee card holders have free access to the labour market or when a work permit issued by the Czech Labour Office is required.
When an application for an employee card or a blue card is filed, or when a notification of change of employment is filed, the Ministry of the Interior reviews the application or notification together with the necessary documents attached checking them against the particular work position’s details in the Central Database. Therefore, you need to know the vacancy number beforehand and include it in the application or notification form.
Your employer will give you the vacancy number.
The vacancy is first available for potential candidates from the Czech Republic or the European Union. If the vacancy is not filled within 30 days from its publication by the Labour Office, it is registered in the Central Database of Job Vacancies for employee cards or in the Central Database of Job Vacancies for blue cards.
